Because they are all individually owned, each condo is unique in terms of décor inside. All of the units are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The property is very friendly family and is located right on the beach. The fact that you are mere steps from the ocean is a huge bonus, as is the fact that you are renting a condo which means you get a kitchen as well. That could make a big difference for families traveling.
Besides being located directly on the beach, Atlantic Plaza is also very close to historic Flagler Avenue with its multitude of restaurants, bars and shops. You can walk directly to dinner or enjoy the nightlife without having to worry about parking. Flagler Ave. gets very busy at night which makes parking hard to find, so that is a huge plus.
The property also boasts a nice pool, so you have the option of the beach and swimming in the ocean, or relaxing by the pool. The property also has washers and dryers onsite, an outdoor grill and a grocery store about a mile away. From the overwhelmingly positive reviews for the Atlantic Plaza, one thing that stands out is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. It has had the same ownership for many years, so there are people who stay at the Atlantic Plaza who are third generation guests. They have become friends with the owners over the years which I think says a lot for the atmosphere and culture of the facility.

The Best Western New Smyrna Beach Hotel & Suites features a great location directly on the beach, so your beach time is only seconds away. It is located down the road from Flagler Avenue, so the beach in front of the hotel is a little quieter. The location and views are huge selling points for the hotel.
It offers an outdoor pool, so enjoying both the beach and the pool is convenient and a great perk for guests who can’t decide between fresh and saltwater. The grounds are clean and there is onsite parking, though the hotel does charge for it.
The Best Western New Smyrna Beach provides several amenities for their guests. They provide free internet access, and a fitness room with weightlifting equipment and cardio machines. They also have an onsite restaurant with beautiful views of the beach.
The Seascape Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and special events. It is tucked away on the second floor so it is a bit of a hidden gem. The amazing views and moderately priced meals even attract locals, not just guests of the hotel.
The rooms are basic hotel rooms, but they are spacious with separate sleeping areas. The Islander Beach Resort is a 114 unit resort located right on the beach in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. It is located further South than the busy Flagler Avenue section, so if you value less people and a quieter beach experience, the Islander would be a great property to consider. Even being a little further South than the busier areas, it is still close to everything. There are plenty of restaurants, parks and shopping just a short distance away.
The resort is an excellent destination for families for several reasons. First off, there are a lot of great amenities. There is a large, heated pool, kiddie pool, adult and family spas, a game room, toddler play area and exercise facilities. They have pool games, karaoke, live music, magic shows and pool snacks at lunchtime. All of this is obviously in addition to beautiful New Smyrna Beach which is only steps away and has 13 miles of beach to explore. The Islander definitely has enough amenities to keep you busy and that is probably why it is a such a popular place with families.
The guest units that you rent come well equipped for families as well. They all have a fully equipped kitchen, cable TV and DVD players. Some of the units have ocean views and the 1 and 2 bedroom units add separate living rooms. The units are a little older, but are clean and maintained to a high standard. The Islander has a large parking lot that is free for guests as well, which is a nice bonus as other properties charge for parking.
In the immediate vicinity of the Islander Beach Resort is a Publix grocery store and several great restaurants, one of them being one of New Smyrna’s favorites, The Garlic.
Reading reviews of the Islander Beach Resort, previous guests praise the laid-back, family atmosphere of the resort as well as the great service. Many of them are second generation guests, having traveled there as kids before returning with their own families. That kind of longevity speaks to the quality of the Islander Beach Resort and the service they provide. It is a great option when staying in New Smyrna Beach.

The SpringHill Suites by Marriott New Smyrna Beach arguably has the best location of any hotel in New Smyrna Beach. It is located at the end of historic Flagler Avenue, right on the beach. Walk out the front door and you have access to all of the restaurants and shopping that Flagler Avenue offers. Walk out the back door past the pool and you are mere steps from the beach. That makes it a go-to hotel for many travelers.
When you walk in, you are greeted by the friendly staff in a beautiful, modern lobby with a bar, small store and several seating areas. In the morning, this is where the complimentary breakfast is served. In the evening, this is where the Happy Hour is held as well. Both have live music on occasion as well. The small store has snacks and sundries available 24 hours a day. There is also a 7-11 located directly across the street from the hotel in case you need something they do not have.
The SpringHill Suites offers free parking (a bonus in this area), free Wi-Fi, a state-of-the-art fitness center and an oceanfront pool. The rooms are spacious suites and whether you have an oceanfront room or one overlooking Flagler Avenue, there is always something to look at from your balcony.
When we stayed there, we found the staff to be incredibly accommodating to our needs. Everyone was extremely friendly, from the front desk personnel to the cleaning people, breakfast buffet employees and management. When we had an issue with our TV, they sent a technician up quickly and moved our room when it wasn’t an easy fix. They even gave us a credit on our bill for the trouble, we didn’t even need to ask.
Overall, the SpringHill Suites by Marriott New Smyrna Beach is a beautiful property in an amazing location. It is our choice when we go to New Smyrna. We love being able to park our car and just enjoy our trip!

The Salty Mermaid is also right near the strip of bars, restaurants and stores on Flagler Avenue, giving you tons of recreational opportunities within walking distance. Something unique about the Salty Mermaid is that they also have a rental business next door that rents bikes and golf carts to get around NSB. That is helpful if you decide to visit restaurants further away or want to explore stretches of beach outside of walking distance. New Smyrna Beach is a very bikeable city, so it is an awesome way to get around and check out new sights.
The rooms are clean, updated and well appointed. Each room has a bright, modern décor and they come with Keurig coffee machines, beach towels, complimentary beach bags and yoga mats. Besides the gorgeous beach and Atlantic Ocean, the Salty Mermaid has a great lawn with several private and comfy seating areas with amazing views. One reviewer was even able to watch a SpaceX rocket launch from one of their lawn chairs! The whole property gives off a vintage Florida vibe of being laid back and comfortable but still updated and nice.
Guests always compliment the service at The Salty Mermaid. With only five rooms, the staff can take the time to make sure guests have everything they need.
