Apollo Beach
Apollo Beach is located at the south end of New Smyrna Beach Florida and is a part of the Canaveral National Seashore, which makes it a national park and is the longest stretch of undeveloped beach in the state of Florida at 24 miles long.
The park is open from 6 AM to 8 PM and entry is $20 per vehicle or $10 per person if you are on a bike. These entry tickets are good for 7 days. If you’re a resident or planning to visit multiple times over the course of a few weeks, the $40 Annual Pass would be a better option for you.
Due to the sheer size of the park, there are a ton of places to explore and recreational options for your visit. There are hiking trails, campgrounds, fishing spots, kayaking/boating places and rocket launch viewing opportunities. Because it is so close to the Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral, it is a great idea to check out the rocket launch schedule because they are amazing to watch.
The park has 5 parking areas spaced about 1-2 miles apart from each other. The parking areas have 15-20 spaces and bathrooms without running water. The beach is beautiful and natural without the large crowds of the beaches to the north in New Smyrna Beach. For your information, when you get out to the latter part of the 4th and entire 5th parking area, it becomes a clothing optional beach. That section is well marked so you don’t have to worry about stumbling onto it with the kids.
There are a lot of wildlife viewing opportunities at Apollo Beach as well. In fact, be careful as you drive so that you don’t accidentally run over a tortoise or alligator walking across the road.
The Apollo Beach Park is very rural so be sure to bring in everything you need. There are no stores or restaurants at all. It is extremely wild and pristine. Most guests love experiencing a natural beach with no hotels or condos in sight. Put Apollo Beach on your list if that appeals to you. It is incredible!
