The Black Dolphin Inn is a lovely 14 room boutique inn overlooking the Indian River in New Smyrna Beach. It opened in 2013 and has quickly become an award winning property including being the recipient of the 2014 TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice Award as one of the Top 10 Inns in the US.
The Black Dolphin is located away from the hustle and bustle of the beach, Flagler Avenue and even the downtown Canal Street shopping district, so future guests may want to make sure that they have access to a car. The Riverview Hotel and Spa is a New Smyrna Beach historical landmark. The big pink Victorian dates back to 1885. It has been beautifully restored and is now an 18-room boutique inn with a lot of luxurious amenities.
The Riverview is located at the end of the “strip” on Flagler Avenue, right on the Indian River. It is within walking distance of the many shops, bars and restaurants on Flagler Avenue and about a .5 mile walk to the beach. It is nice to have a hotel where you can park your car and not need to move it too often.
The restored building boasts several types of rooms, all beautifully appointed with comfortable beds, custom woodwork and unique lighting and furnishings. Most have balconies and a couple have direct access to the heated outdoor pool via French doors.
The Riverview is also known for its world class spa. The spa offers a vast assortment of services, such as massages, body treatments, facials, nails and waxing. They also have a private heated therapeutic waterfall pool and mineral pool in an oasis like setting that is included with your service. They offer food, special group events and even have a store.
